A Malaysian woman took to the Facebook page XUAN, to share how her decade long relationship ended a month ago, just months before the wedding. She thought she had found her forever. They started dating back when they were still students. After school, their relationship endured 4 years of long distance.
“During university, we went through 4 years of long-distance. He was accepted into an overseas university, while I stayed behind to study locally,” she wrote.
After graduation, they moved in together, like many couples hoping to build a future. But cracks soon appeared.
“He was not the good-tempered person everyone thought he was. In fact, he had a fiery temper. His gentleness was only a façade for outsiders. With me, he often lost his temper and even gave me the silent treatment.”
Whenever he was upset, he threw her out of their rented place. Yet each time, she forgave him, thinking love could fix everything. When he proposed, she thought he had finally matured and was ready to settle down. Filled with happiness, she threw herself into planning the wedding. He claimed weddings were expensive and asked her to shoulder everything, from rent, loans, meals, to daily necessities. She believed he was saving up to marry her, but the weight crushed her.
“Until later, when the pressure became so suffocating that even buying myself a piece of clothing felt like a luxury. Yet he turned it around on me, saying I didn’t know how to manage money, that I was not fit to be a wife.”
The breaking point came when he heartlessly kicked her out, tossing her belongings onto the street.
“One day, he finally kicked me out without mercy, throwing my belongings onto the street.” That night, she sat at the doorway, overwhelmed by pain. "I still remember that night, sitting at the doorway with nowhere to go.”
Then through his colleagues, she discovered the painful truth.
“He had already been seeing a co-worker for some time. They had started their relationship even before the proposal. And me? I was nothing more than a foolish ‘ATM’ paying his car loans and buying his daily needs.”
Now, the rental home they once shared is no longer hers as the other woman has since moved in with her now-ex fiance. Netizens were all on her side, saying that she dodged a bullet there before things got financially complicated.
“You should be glad that the one who will become the ATM next is the mistress. Trash belongs with trash, there’s nothing worth pitying. Put in some effort to move on, start your new life, and look for the man who truly loves you. The youth that has passed will never return, so you must look forward in order to walk out of the pain. Even if you don’t meet your true love, you can still love yourself. At least now you can finally afford to buy the clothes you like. Stay strong.”

Her heartbreaking confession is a reminder that love should never come at the cost of being treated as nothing more than an ATM. Stability in a relationship cannot exist if one partner is left carrying the weight alone.
