You may think success in contests is pure luck, but for one Malaysian, it has become an art form. Meet 39-year-old Faiz Aizuddin, a former teacher who left jaws dropped when he revealed that he won 3 brand-new cars in a single month this year, with 2 of those happening on the same day.
His contest-winning journey began way back when he was 18, waiting for his placement at a matriculation college. It was then that he entered an SMS contest by DiGi, and emerged as one of only 8 grand prize winners. The grand price was equivalent to 10 months’ salary. To top it off, he was the youngest winner in that batch. From there, Faiz built an almost unbelievable record.
He has now taken home:
More than riding on Lady Luck. Faiz treats slogan-writing contests like poetry. He knows judges are humans and will welcome something that brings a smile. With his law background, combined with psychology and product understanding, he crafts emotionally powerful slogans that strike a chord.
“I write slogans like I write poems. Every line must carry emotions,” he said, as reported by Siakap Keli.
Faiz now shares his insights via a social media series titled “Slogan: Retorik atau Frasa Menggoda Juri?”, which has sparked a wave of interest among Malaysia’s contest enthusiasts.
But it is not all rainbows. Faiz warns that not all contests are genuine. Scams are everywhere, and it is wise to double-check a contest’s legitimacy before putting yourself at risk.
Faiz’s journey shows that financial gain doesn’t always come from traditional jobs or investments. He shows that treating contests as a serious side hustle, with creativity and discipline, can generate real financial value. Cars, motorcycles, and gadgets that he won are assets, and vacations or VIP experiences are lifestyle perks that would otherwise cost huge amounts of money.
