Visa Platinum Credit Card-i At A Glance
Launched in July 2026, alrajhi bank Malaysia’s Visa Platinum Credit Card-i is designed for everyday spending. It offers 5% cashback on dining, groceries, online purchases and utility bills, with a combined monthly cap of RM30. Both principal and supplementary cards enjoy lifetime annual fee waivers.
The card uses Tawarruq, a Shariah-compliant financing arrangement, and you can manage your account through the MY alrajhi app.
How Cashback Works
Cashback is calculated using whole ringgit amounts, excluding sen. For example, a RM51.05 grocery purchase earns RM2.55 cashback, based on RM51.
Cashback is credited on your statement date. Transactions posted after that date receive cashback the following month. Spending on principal and supplementary cards is combined, and all cashback is credited to the principal account. The RM30 monthly cap applies collectively to the four categories eligible for 5% cashback.
Transactions That Don’t Qualify For Cashback
The following transactions are excluded from both the 5% and 0.2% cashback rates:
- Petrol station purchases
- E-wallet reloads, including Touch ‘n Go eWallet, GrabPay, Boost and ShopeePay
- Payments through FPX, JomPay, online banking, mail order or telephone order
- Government payments, such as taxes and fines, and charitable donations
- Quasi-cash transactions, including foreign currency purchases, money orders, travellers’ cheques, gaming tokens and cryptocurrency
- Instalment plans and balance transfers
- Cash withdrawals, fees, charges and taxes
Interest Rates, Fees And Other Charges
The card has no annual fee for life, but a RM25 service tax applies to each card upon activation and annually thereafter.
You can enjoy a 20-day profit-free period on retail purchases if you settle your previous statement balance in full by the due date. If you pay only the minimum amount, the annual profit rate on retail purchases depends on your payment record:
| Payment Record | Profit Rate (% p.a.) |
|---|---|
| Minimum payment made on time for 12 consecutive months | 15% |
| Minimum payment made on time for at least 10 months in a 12-month cycle | 17% |
| Other payment records | 18% |
Cash withdrawals incur an 18% annual profit rate from the withdrawal date, with no grace period. Other charges include:
- Late payment:1 % of the outstanding balance, subject to a minimum of RM10 and maximum of RM100, while the minimum payment remains unpaid
- Minimum monthly payment: 5% of the statement balance or RM50, whichever is higher
- Foreign currency spending: 1.18% markup on top of Visa’s exchange rate and any applicable Visa transaction fee
- Cash withdrawal fee: RM1 locally and RM17 overseas
- Exceeding the credit limit: No fee, but the excess amount must be repaid by the due date
