Benefits of AmBank Islamic AmMoneyLine Facility-i Personal Financing
AmBank Islamic AmMoneyLine Facility-i is an unsecured Islamic personal financing product for lifestyle needs or unexpected expenses. There is no processing fee upon approval and no penalty for early settlement.
Borrowers who make their monthly instalment payments on time throughout the year receive a 5% rebate, which works out to savings of up to 25% over a 5-year tenure.
Financing amount and tenure
The minimum financing amount is RM2,000. New-to-bank customers can borrow up to RM100,000, while existing AmBank Islamic customers can borrow up to RM150,000, subject to a credit check and the bank's approval.
Repayment tenure ranges from one to seven years, though applications submitted via AmOnline are capped at five years (60 months).
Stamp duty of 0.50% of the total financing amount applies on top of the borrowed sum.
Profit rate for AmBank Islamic personal financing
The profit rate is a flat rate that varies by employment type and financing amount. Salaried employees are charged between 8.00% and 9.99% per annum. Self-employed individuals and commission earners are charged a flat rate of 11.99% per annum for financing amounts between RM2,000 and RM150,000.
Monthly instalments stay fixed for the entire tenure, regardless of income type.
Takaful cover is optional
Reducing Term Takaful (RTT), which covers the outstanding financing balance, is optional rather than mandatory.
How AmMoneyLine Facility-i monthly instalments are paid
Repayment starts the month after the financing is disbursed. Instalments are due monthly until the outstanding balance is fully repaid.
AmBank Islamic accepts payment by cheque or cash and does not require standing instructions or salary deductions.
A 1% late payment fee applies to late instalments and compounds if left unpaid.
Borrowers who want to settle the financing before the end of the tenure must give one month's written notice before making the final payment.

No guarantor or collateral is required, as this is unsecured financing. Along with the application form, applicants must submit supporting documents based on employment type.

Applying with a poor credit history
Approval depends on credit history with other financial institutions, since outstanding credit card, personal loan, home loan or car loan debts are recorded in CCRIS/CTOS, a system that tracks credit information rather than blacklisting borrowers.
Applicants with a history of irregular payments can improve their approval chances by making consistent, on-time payments going forward. AmBank Islamic is more likely to approve applications from borrowers who can show they are managing their finances rather than accumulating more debt.
