Who is eligible for Bank Islam Personal Financing-i for Professional Program?
Bank Islam Personal Financing-i For Professional Program is open to all fixed-income earners, including medical practitioners and selected professionals.
To qualify, applicants need to:
- Be a Malaysian citizen
- Be between 25 and 60 years old, and not older than the retirement age or the end of the financing tenure
- Earn a minimum monthly income of RM2,000
- Earn a minimum monthly income of RM15,000 if applying for financing above RM300,000

The rate depends on the type of package, whether Takaful coverage is included, and whether instalments are paid via salary transfer or standing instruction.

There's no processing fee for Bank Islam Personal Financing-i For Professional Program, apart from a Wakalah (Agency) Fee of RM50.
Government Stamp Duty also applies, at 0.50% of the total amount borrowed.
How does repayment work for Bank Islam Personal Financing-i for Professional Program?
Repayment starts the month after the money is credited into the applicant's chosen bank account. A late payment adds a 1% penalty fee.
Financing can be settled early, any time before the maturity date, with an Ibra' (rebate) equal to the remaining profit at the time of settlement.
Monthly instalments are paid either by Salary Transfer or Standing Instruction.
What documents does the Bank Islam Personal Financing-i for Professional Program application need?
Applicants need to prepare a few supporting documents before submitting their application:
- Copy of IC (front and back)
- Latest 3 months' salary slips
- Latest 3 months' bank statements showing salary crediting
- Copy of confirmation letter from employer
- Latest EPF statement
Each profession also needs additional proof of credentials:
- Doctor: Certificate of registration with MMC/MMA, or for locums, an additional letter/payment voucher from the relevant clinic or hospital
- Dentist: Certificate of registration with MDC
- Accountant: Degree in accounting, plus a professional certificate from MICPA, ACCA, CIMA, or CFA
- Engineer: Degree in Engineering, plus a professional certificate from BEM (e.g. IR)
- Lecturer: Minimum Degree, Master's, or PhD, and staff status at one of the 20 listed IPTA or 20 listed IPTS recognised by Bank Islam
- Architect: Degree in Architecture, plus registered membership with LAM, PAM, or ILAM
- Safety officer: OSH officer credential certificate issued by the Chief Director of the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH)
- Pharmacist: Degree in Pharmacy, plus registered membership with the Pharmacy Board of Malaysia, an Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) from PBM, or a credential certificate from PBM
- Veterinary: Degree in Veterinary Science or a related field, plus registered membership with the Malaysian Veterinary Council (MVC) or an Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) from MVC
- Optometrist and optician: Degree in Optometry (optometrist) or at least a Diploma in a relevant field (optician), plus registered membership with the Malaysian Optical Council (MOC), an Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) from MOC, or an Optical Lenses Permit (for opticians)
- Quantity surveyor: Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related course, plus registered membership with the Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia (BQSM) or a Certificate of Registration – Form D
- Actuary: Degree in Actuarial Science or a related course, plus registered membership with the Actuarial Society of Malaysia, or a certificate from the Society of Actuaries (US), Casualty Actuarial Society (US), Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (UK), or Actuaries Institute (Australia)
