Whether Bank Islam Personal Financing-i Non-Package requires a guarantor or collateral depends on Bank Islam's assessment of the applicant's credit standing. For financing above RM30,000, at least one guarantor is required.

How does repayment work?

Once Bank Islam Personal Financing-i Non-Package is approved, repayment starts the month after the money is credited into the applicant's chosen bank account. A late payment adds a 1% penalty fee.

Financing can be settled early, any time before the maturity date, with an Ibra' (rebate) equal to the remaining profit at the time of settlement.

Monthly instalments are paid either by Salary Transfer or Standing Instruction.

What documents does the Bank Islam Personal Financing-i Non-Package application need?

Applicants need to prepare a few supporting documents before submitting their application:

  • Copy of IC (front and back)
  • Latest 3 months' salary slips
  • Latest confirmation letter from employer
  • At least one of: EPF statement, latest 3 months' bank statement showing salary credited, or latest income tax form (Form B or Form EA/EC)

Can someone with a poor credit history still apply for Bank Islam Personal Financing-i Non-Package?

Credit history with other financial institutions matters here, since debts like credit cards, personal loans, home loans, and car loans all show up in CCRIS/CTOS. These systems record credit history, they don't blacklist people.

Anyone with a history of late payments is better off breaking that habit and paying on time from now on. Bank Islam is more likely to approve applicants who show they're managing their money well, rather than taking on more debt.
