What’s DuitGini Personal Loan?
It’s a personal loan that you can apply for online and repay through the DuitGini app or website. The lender is E Senang Sdn Bhd, formerly called Mualamat Biz Capital Sdn Bhd. It holds a moneylending licence from the Ministry of Local Government Development (KPKT), number WL7272/07/01-4/160927, valid until 16 September 2027.
Because DuitGini is a licensed moneylender, not a bank, your loan falls under the Moneylenders Act 1951, and you can use the money for anything legal.
How Much Can You Borrow, And What Interest Rate Will You Pay?
You can borrow from RM500 to RM10,000, and DuitGini charges an interest rate of 18% a year, on a flat rate. That means interest is charged on the full amount you borrow for the whole loan period, even as you pay it down.
To work out your monthly instalment:
Formula: I = (P + P×R×T)/M
Where:
P = Principal Loan Amount (e.g. RM10,000.00)
R = Annual Flat Interest Rate (18% / 0.18)
T = Loan Tenure in years (e.g. 0.5)
M = Total Repayment Period in months (e.g. 6)
Say you borrow the maximum RM10,000. Over three months (0.25 years) or the longest period of six months (0.5 years), it works out like this:
3 months:
- (RM10,000 + RM10,000 × 18% × 0.25) ÷ 3 = RM3,483.33
- Interest: RM450
- You repay: RM10,450
- Each month: RM3,483.33
- Effective Interest Rate (EIR): 26.80% p.a.
6 months:
- (RM10,000 + RM10,000 × 18% × 0.5) ÷ 6 = RM1,816.67
- Interest: RM900
- You repay: RM10,900
- Each month: RM1,816.67
- Effective Interest Rate (EIR): 30.23% p.a.
The EIR is higher than 18% because it’s based on the balance you still owe each month, and these figures don’t count fees. Choosing six months instead of three means paying RM450 more in interest, but your monthly instalment drops by RM1,666.66.
Your exact rate will be in your loan agreement, so check it before you sign. DuitGini can also change the rate, instalment or due date later with written notice. If you don’t accept the change, you’d need to end the agreement and repay the full amount.
Any Fees To Know About?
DuitGini doesn’t charge any fees upfront. These fees are applicable after you get your money:
- Stamp duty: Based on the Stamp Duty Act 1949 (Revised 1989)
- Late payment charge: 8% a year on what’s overdue, counted by the day
Can You Pay It Off Early?
Call +60 3 8699 7527 (8am to 10pm daily) and ask for your settlement amount on the date you plan to pay. Get that amount in writing, and ask for a letter confirming the loan is closed once you’ve paid.
How Do You Repay?
Go to “Repayment” in the DuitGini app or website and tap “Pay Now”. Your full amount is already filled in, but you can change it. Pick a payment method and pay.
What If You’re Late In Your Repayments?
DuitGini charges a late payment charge of the overdue amount × 8% ÷ 365 × the number of days late.
Say your RM1,816.67 instalment is 10 days late. That’s about RM3.98 in late charges. The charges don’t compound and can’t exceed your outstanding principal, but debt collection agency fees sit outside that cap. DuitGini can also hand your account to a collection agency or take legal action. If you’re going to miss a payment, call them first.
Who Can Apply?
You need to be 18 or older and earn a minimum monthly income of RM1,000 to apply. All salaried employees, commission earners and microentrepreneurs are eligible.
What Do You Need To Apply?
You’ll need your valid IC and an active bank account where the loan will be transferred to.
