What is Emicro i-Financing?

Emicro i-Financing is a Shariah-compliant personal financing product structured under the Tawarruq concept and certified by Emicro's Shariah Advisors. It's offered by Emicro Services Sdn Bhd (Reg.No : 201501014968 (1140300-D), a financing company licensed (Licence No.: WL5789/14/01-10/210826) by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT).

Applications are submitted through a fully digital platform, with approval possible within 1 working day, subject to complete documentation and a successful assessment. Applications made outside operating hours are processed on the next working day. Once approved, funds are disbursed to the applicant's bank account.

What are the minimum and maximum financing amounts?

Financing ranges from RM500 to RM10,000, with tenures from 3 to 24 months.

What is the profit rate for Emicro i-Financing?

Emicro i-Financing charges a fixed, flat profit rate of 12% per annum with collateral, or 18% per annum without collateral.

A flat rate means the profit is calculated once, on the full amount borrowed, for the entire loan period. It doesn't reduce as the balance is paid down, unlike most bank personal loans, which only charge profit on the amount still owed.

Formula: I = (P + P×R×T)/M

Where:
P = Principal Loan Amount (RM 10,000.00)
R = Annual Flat Profit Rate (18% / 0.18)
T = Loan Tenure in years (e.g., 2)
M = Total Repayment Period in months (24)

For example, a loan of RM10,000 over 24 months yields a total profit of RM3,600, bringing the total repayment to RM13,600, or RM566.67 a month. This excludes stamp duty and other charges, which will add to the actual amount repaid each month.

Because profit is calculated on the full principal for the entire tenure, the Effective Profit Rate (EPR) works out higher than the stated 18% flat rate. It varies depending on the tenure chosen:

  • 3 months: 30.35% p.a.
  • 6 months: 34.79% p.a.
  • 12 months: 36.76% p.a.
  • 24 months: 36.42% p.a.

Are there any fees or charges?

The following fees apply:

  • Late Penalty Fee: A late payment interest of 8% per annum will be charged on the principal amount, and a separate late payment penalty fee of RM25.00 will also apply if not be paid within seven (7) days of when it is due.
  • Stamp Duty: In accordance with the Stamp Act 1949 (Revised 1989)
