What is the Tambadana Personal Loan?
Tambadana is an online personal loan offered by Wawasan Cojaya Sdn Bhd (201401047621 (1123810-P)), licensed under Malaysia's Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT License No. WL6646/14/01-6/301127).
How much can I borrow, and what is the interest rate?
You can borrow between RM500 and RM10,000 with the Tambadana Personal Loan and repay it over 3 to 12 months. The interest rate is between 15% and 18% a year, depending on the terms you're offered. This means interest is calculated on the full principal for the entire loan period, not on the decreasing balance as you make repayments.
Formula: I = (P + P×R×T)/M
Where:
P = Principal Financing Amount (e.g. RM10,000.00)
R = Annual Flat Interest Rate (18% / 0.18)
T = Financing Tenure in years (e.g. 1)
M = Total Repayment Period in months (e.g. 12)
Borrow RM10,000 for the full 12 months at the lowest rate, 15% a year, and you'd pay RM1,500 in interest. That brings your total repayment to RM11,500, or RM958.33 a month. At the higher rate of 18% a year, the same loan would cost RM1,800 in interest instead, for a total of RM11,800, or RM983.33 a month. These numbers don't include the stamp duty or other charges, which will add a bit more to what you actually pay.
Since flat-rate interest is charged on the full principal throughout the tenure, the true annual cost is higher than the stated 15%-18%. Note that the Effective Interest Rate (EIR) changes with tenure, so a different financing tenure will produce a different EIR.
| Tenure | EIR at 15% flat rate | EIR at 18% flat rate |
| 3 months | 22.36% a year | 26.80% a year |
| 6 months | 25.28% a year | 30.23% a year |
| 9 months | 26.24% a year | 31.32% a year |
| 12 months | 26.62% a year | 31.72% a year |
